Here’s my favorite mountain man/bushcraft belt bag. It’s made from kodiak oil tanned hide and hand cut lace. It’s laced together with an extra piece of kodiak across all of the seams. The antler button and closure are also made by hand using local sheds i collected. Approximate bag dimensions are 8 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide and it has a 2.75 inch gusset. The belt loop will accommodate up to a 1.75 in wide belt. The loop is secured using hand peened rivets. Extra lace was left on the sides in order to tie something like a tinder bag to it. These can be trimmed if not needed. Every part of the bag was rubbed with obenauf’s lp.
