This compass was officially designated “diopter-orientierungsbussole” i. Magnetic compass with alidade, but it became very famous under the name “bézard-kompass”, used by people needing a serious professional compass explorers , trackers , hikers ect. The bezard compass was manufactured by georg lufft company located in stuttgart. The company logo, a drawing compass with g & l is located on the back of the compass body with bezard kompass in relief above. This one was made to be exported to poland from what i could research its and early mark 2 with two clips used to fix a 10cm graduated ruler , a round or oval loop fixed to a stem as on pocket watches, the compass comes in its original black, ribbed, leather pouch with edge-to-edge stitching. Used vintage condition with all the marks and signs of nearly 100 years of use , no cracks in glass, pouch partly open on one side, ring stiff. Side to side -2.8 inches (7 cm). Top to bottom -3 inches (7.5 cm). This item is made of steel case and leather pouch.
