Vintage randall made knife, model: 11 – 5 alaskan skinner made in 1980. I bought this knife in nov. 2008 intending to use it for camping but when i got the knife, it was in such great shape that i had to put in my collection and never used it. To me this is the “a typical” randall with no options but name printing, so it has the tool steel blade, brass finger guard, stacked leather handle, red, white and blue spacers and dur-aluminum butt cap. This knife is in great shape, the leather handle is tight with no shrinkage or marks, the blade is in fine shape with no chips, but the tool steel did darken with age (42 – 43 years old) looking at this knife, the type and color of spacers, type of salmon stone and the johnson rough back sheath, a build date of 1980 seems correct to me.
