This is a handforged bushcraft style knife made from a re-purposed farrier’s rasp. The handle is handmade from resin-impregnated canvas which is then shaped and carved. The handle is waterproof and very durable. The pins are crafted from 1/4 inch brass with a 1/4 inch brass thong tube. Over all length is 10 1/2 inches. The blade is 5 1/2 inches in length and approximately 1 1/2 inches wide with a thickness of 5/32. The knife weighs 8 3/4 oz. The sheath is handmade and sewn form latigo leather and includes a thumb snap and belt loop. The blade is made of a repurposed rasp which was used by a horseshoer. These rasps and files are a great source for high carbon steel which makes for very strong, long lasting and durable knife blades. They are very wear resistant but will rust if not stored properly. After you use your knife, or if you plan to store it, wipe it down with mineral oil, gun oil or wd-40 and store it in a dry location. If you are storing your knife we recommend that you do not store it in a leather sheath, as the leather may hold some moisture or sweat. Always clean and dry your knife and add a light coat of mineral oil, wax or preservative before storage for lengthy periods. We stand behind our knives. If your blade fails during normal use, we will replace it for as long as we are making knives. Normal use does not include use as a screwdriver, prybar, chisel, hatchet or throwing knife.
