This is an exceptional pair of antique to vintage small binoculars or opera glasses. The are by lemaire with fabt and paris stamped on the eyepieces as well as 2 bees. Elsewhere are the number 61, another bee and made in france. These glasses look as if never used or used lightly. They have obviously been stored in it’s case and very rarely even extended as the extended tubes show absolutely no wear. The only wear on the glasses themselves are some evidence of brass showing through on the outer rim of the eyepieces and the center screw has some green tarnish. They are a bit stiff to open and close, but that appears to be from lack of use. The optics are superb and very clear. They come in the original case which fit the closed classes like a glove. The case is in worn condition on the outside with wear patterns on the edges and the top strap is broken. The closure is brass with a bee on the button and works to hold and open the case well. The interior is superb. The silk liner is an orange/ tan color with no tears or rips, just some wear marks from the glasses. These are by far the best looking and nicest pair of older glasses i have ever seen. They will be well worth the price.
