Designed for the people’s pioneers who conquer the vastness of space in their steam-powered spaceships, the design of this knife is partly inspired by steampunk, partly on the raygun-gothic style and is meant to evoke the early days of space travel. The breakthroughs in the blade are meant to reduce the weight of the knife, but can also be used as a wrench for screws with specially designed heads. The blade was hand-forged from 1,2842 steel and hardened to around 60hrc (hardness to rockwell). The symetric blade is only sanded in the lower part, so it remains blunt in the upper half. The handle is made of walnut wood and has a brass hand protection. The angel goes through to the end, where it was fitted with an end cap of brass and copper and made with a brass pen. The wood is finely sanded, oiled and polished, the hand protection and end cap are polished while the blade is extremely sharply sanded. The decoration is not part of the offer. Total length 25.6 cm. Blade length 13.6 cm. Handle length 12 cm. Flute length 9.7 cm. Blade width 3 cm. Blade thickness 3.6 mm. All parts of the knife were crafted. More details about the production can be found on my homepage.
